There are numerous specializedcompanies  that represent the economic strengths of the Province of Treviso. From the tradition of wrought iron, whose major exponents are Toni and Simon Benetton, to the processing and weaving of rattan wicker, typical of the area of the left Piave -Pieve di Soligo, Sernaglia and Barbisano-; from the production and decoration of ceramic art of Bassano to the texile art in Asolo with its precious silks and brocades. Regarding the confectionery, pastry and ice cream fields, Italians export their fame in craftsmanship to Germany and Holland.
For several decades, the secondary industry has developed to become increasingly competitive, especially in the fields of furniture, footwear and food. Not to mention that Treviso is the capital of sports footwear in the world.
Shopping in Treviso is enjoyable and relaxing: the historical center, closed to traffic, offers countless fashion boutiques, bookstores, jewelry shops, handcrafts and furniture shop. Along the axis of the Corso del Popolo, passing through Piazza dei Signori and Calmaggiore there is a great concentration of shops to suit all needs.
However the entire historic center is a great shopping opportunity, you just have to get involved in it. But shopping is even more enjoyable in Piazza del Grano and along Viale Burchiellati that, every Tuesday and Saturday mornings, are occupied by the street market stalls, that make it the most vibrant district of Treviso.
