With its 800 inhabitants, it is the smallest municipality in the Province of Treviso, both as inhabitants and as a dimensions.
It has maintained its medieval appearance with small porched houses and for this reason it has been included in the ranking of the “I Borghi più belli d'Italia”. Like other municipalitiesin the province of Treviso - Treviso, Asolo, Castelfranco, Conegliano - it was surrounded by walls.
It is thought that the original name of the town was Settimo di Liquenzia, a small rural village built in the third century BC on the shore of the Livenza river.
The Guided Tour includes the visit of the beautiful medieval house considered as the ancient residence of Gaia da Camino, today a museum, Porta Friuli with the characteristic Lion of St. Mark and the Duomo, which according to the tradition was obteined from a previous synagogue .
The city center is included in the itinerary "On the Traces of the Writers"
